Fall Tradition Ideas for 2014

Last year one of our goals was to go to Oak Glen, and here we are! No desire to go back this year.

This year, fall seems to have come faster than I was ready. Maybe it's the heat, but my fall spirit has not really kicked into gear yet. I even have decorations lying around that I have not been inspired enough to slap up on these very much needy walls. Instead today, I cleaned. For hours. Then researched fall things we might do. So here is my annual list of goals and ideas, tailored for this year. I used last year's list as a model to go off of. Some of this we will certainly get to, others, we will see. :)

I feel a bit more of the fall spirit coming on, as it helps that Halloween and Fall decorations are coming out into play more in our neighborhood, and even with a glittering pumpkin at my work!

Happy Fall '14!

Another thing you could do, is a joy jar! Here is ours when we first began in the beginning of the year. We began ours on New Year's '14 and will look back on the blessings of 2014 this next New Year's Eve. However, you COULD also do something like this for Fall time.

  1. Decorate the house for fall
  2. Make Pumpkin Apple Muffins with Caleb!
  3. Make soup, maybe Italian Wedding Soup
  4. Bake a fresh apple pie
  5. Fall cartoon and apple cider
  6. Go to a pumpkin patch
  7. Decorate or carve a pumpkin
  8. Roast marshmallows over a fire
  9. Bake pumpkin bread
  10. Play a board game
  11. Eat breakfast for dinner
  12. Take a family photo
  13. Attend a fall festival
    • Or maybe just go to a place like Irvine Regional Park or Santiago Oaks Canyon.
  14. Make pumpkin pie
  15. Go on a nature walk and collect leaves
  16. Have a picnic
    • Perhaps at Fullerton Arboretum.
  17. Fall art/craft ideas:
  18. Tree of Gratitude
  19. Trick or Treat in the neighborhood
  20. Halloween costume shop
  21. Read Halloween/Thanksgiving books
  22. Halloween home dance party?
